What Stake Plinko is
Plinko is a Stake Original built in-house and playable Only on Stake. The game takes its drop mechanic from Japanese pachinko and runs it on a provably fair engine.
- a ball falls through a pin pyramid and lands in one pot;
- each pot pays the bet times its multiplier;
- two settings, rows and risk level, shape the payouts;
- RTP 99.00%, house edge 1.00%, max win 10,000×.
A drop settles in seconds, so a session can run many balls in a short time. The settings stay the same from ball to ball until changed.
How a Plinko drop works
Each ball enters at the top of the pyramid and bounces off pin after pin on its way down. At the bottom it drops into one of a row of pots, each marked with a multiplier.
- centre pots carry the lowest multipliers;
- the higher multipliers sit at both edges of the board;
- the payout is the bet times the multiplier of the pot the ball lands in;
- the ball's path is fixed by the random number generator, not by earlier drops.
Most balls finish near the middle, where the pots pay least. The edge pots pay most and are reached least often.

Rows and risk levels
Rows set the size of the pyramid, from 8 to 16 for each round. More rows widen the spread of possible payouts. Risk level reshapes the pots: a higher level widens the edge multipliers and narrows the middle ones.
Easy
The lowest volatility and the most balanced spread of pots. The top multiplier peaks at 16.00× with 16 rows.
Medium
Larger edge pots with a still balanced variance. The top multiplier reaches 110× with 16 rows.
Hard
A sharp rise in volatility and much larger edge pots. The top multiplier reaches 1,000× with 16 rows.
Expert
The highest volatility. Low pots pay 0.1×, so losses come more often, while the top pot reaches 10,000× with 16 rows.
Rows and risk work together. Raising both at once makes the largest change to volatility and to the top payout.
Top multiplier by rows and risk level
Every combination of rows and risk has its own pot layout. The table holds the published top multiplier for each pair.
| Rows | Easy | Medium | Hard | Expert |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 | 5.60× | 13.00× | 29.00× | 50.00× |
| 9 | 5.60× | 18.00× | 43.00× | 100× |
| 10 | 8.90× | 22.00× | 76.00× | 201× |
| 11 | 8.40× | 24.00× | 120× | 324× |
| 12 | 10.00× | 33.00× | 170× | 619× |
| 13 | 8.10× | 43.00× | 260× | 1,012× |
| 14 | 7.10× | 58.00× | 420× | 2,369× |
| 15 | 15.00× | 88.00× | 620× | 5,000× |
| 16 | 16.00× | 110× | 1,000× | 10,000× |
The 10,000× max win needs Expert risk and 16 rows. Those pots sit at the far edges, and the game window shows every pot of the chosen layout before the drop.
RTP and house edge
Plinko returns 99.00% of all bets over the long run, which leaves a 1.00% house edge. The edge is the same for every row count and risk level.
- 99.00% RTP means 1.00% of all bets stays with the casino over time;
- higher risk spreads the same return over rarer, larger wins;
- a single session can land far above or below the RTP.
The full list of Originals with their RTP sits in the Originals hub.
Manual, Autobet, Instant Bet and hotkeys
Plinko offers a Manual tab for one ball per press and an Autobet tab for a set number of balls. Three more controls speed up play.
- Manual: one ball per press of Bet;
- Autobet: a fixed number of balls played without a press for each one;
- Stop on Profit and Stop on Loss end an Auto series at a set amount;
- Instant Bet: removes the drop animation and shows the result at once;
- hotkeys: the spacebar drops ball after ball on a computer.
A ball count set before Autobet starts keeps a session to plan. Expert risk brings longer losing runs, which an Auto series feels quickly.
18+Plinko sits in the Stake Originals tab of the casino lobby. 18+ only.
Is Stake Plinko provably fair
Each ball drop is generated from a server seed and a client seed. A random number generator turns them into the path, and the result can be rechecked afterwards.
- the server seed is committed as a hash before the drop;
- the client seed comes from the player's side;
- the Fairness button under the game shows the seeds of each bet.
Seeds and hashes are covered in the provably fair explainer. A grid game with the same 99.00% RTP is Mines.
How to play Plinko step by step
A round of Plinko takes six actions, all in the bet panel beside the board. The settings carry over to the next ball.
- Sign in and open Casino, then the Stake Originals tab, then Plinko.
- Enter the bet amount.
- Choose the risk level: Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert.
- Set the number of rows, from 8 to 16.
- Press Bet to drop the ball.
- Read the pot where the ball lands: the payout is the bet times its multiplier.
Plinko also runs in a mobile browser and in the web app. Bets come from the main wallet in crypto or Indian Rupee, from the equivalent of $0.0001.

What rows and risk do not change
No choice of rows, risk level or ball count moves the house edge off 1.00%. Each drop is generated on its own, with no memory of the last ball.
- a run of centre pots does not make an edge pot more likely;
- raising the bet after a loss changes bet sizes, not the odds;
- a ball count and a loss limit fixed in advance keep a session within a budget.
